Baked pink donuts

Hey guys! It seems like it’s been forever since I’ve posted a recipe, so I decided to post these baked pink donuts that I made over spring break! So really I started out making these funfetti donuts from Sally’s baking addiction, but you were supposed to use non-bleed sprinkles to make the inside of the donuts look like funfetti… and… while I was in the middle of the recipe I realized that my sisters ate ALL of them! I tried using some other sprinkles but of course the color immediately bled out of them… causing them to be pink so I made them into baked PINK donuts instead. (instead of using red sprinkles and having them bleed you can use red food coloring) baked pink donuts-Crafts and Cupcakes .JPGThey are super cute! Yesterday was my cousins birthday so I gave her some!baked pink donuts - Crafts and Cupcakes.JPGHere’s the recipe! You will need a donut pan for this recipe! ( I showed mine in this post)

For the donuts:

  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg (to give it that bakery taste)
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  •  Red food coloring

For the glaze:

  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 cups confectioners sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • Sprinkles to decorate

For the donuts:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Mix the flour, baking soda, baking powder, nutmeg, and granulated sugar together in a medium bowl. Set aside.
  3. Whisk together the milk, yogurt, and egg together. Add the melted butter and vanilla, whisking until fully combined.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients mixing until just combined. Do not over mix. The batter will be very thick. Add red food coloring until you have the shade of pink you like.
  5.  Spoon batter into donut pan or place batter into a zip lock bag, cut the end off and pipe batter into donut pans filling 2/3 to 1/4 of the way full.
  6. Bake for 9-10 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Allow to slightly cool before glazing.

For the glaze:

  1. Combine all glaze ingredients in a saucepan over low heat. Whisk until glaze is smooth.
  2. Remove from heat and immediately begin dunking donuts or use a ladle to pour over the top of the donuts.
  3. Place each donut on a wire cooling rack on top of a baking sheet to catch extra glaze.
  4. Sprinkle with sprinkles.

How to hard boil Easter eggs in the oven

Hi guys, Last minute Easter post, How to hard boil Easter eggs, in the oven! For the most part these don’t crack as your baking them either! 1 or 2 of the shells cracked but much less than when you hard boil them. First, you are going to preheat the oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit.oven boiled easter eggs finished-Crafts and Cupcakes.JPG

Then, you place them in muffin pans, one egg per slot.Oven baked easter eggs- Crafts and Cupcakes.JPG

Next, put them in the oven for 30 mins.Oven baked easter eggs-Crafts and Cupcakes.JPGWhen done cooking, immediately transfer to a bowl of ice water and let cool completely.Oven boiled easter eggs cooling-Crafts and cupcakes.JPG

Let cool, decorate, and eat!oven boiled easter eggs- done!.JPG

I over cooked them a little and brown spots appeared on the outside of the eggs, but they washed of easy! You might want to test run a couple of eggs because everyone’s oven is different so the temps vary from 325 to 350.

Super cute succulent pot

Hey guys! I have been dying to share this with you! The other day I went to Michael’s and target and a bunch of other places just for fun, and I knew I wanted to get a succulent plant sometime or another when I saw the cute ones on crafting{e} so I decided to go get one.P1280157.JPG

First, I went to target and got a bunch of cute Easter stuff. I also got these adorable little milk jars for my pictures!P1280170

After that we went to Michael’s. I LOVE Michael’s! It’s got crafting and baking stuff all in one! What! Awesome! Anyway, we literally spent 2 hours in Michael’s, they had a ton of great deals, almost everything was on sale! I had a 40% coupon that I had a hard time using because it was only for regular price items!P1280166.JPG

So at Michael’s they had a great deal on scrapbook paper for 20 cents a page instead of 60 cents a page, so… I got a lot of scrap book paper. Also, the scrapbook paper books that are normally $20 were only $6 so I got one of those to.P1280165

I just couldn’t resist buying these letter G’s. When I was at Michael’s, I also bought the cute little pot my succulent plant is in. P1280168.JPGSo I had a baby cakes donut maker, but it was so hard to clean that I sold it, but then I was regretting selling it because I still wanted to make donuts. Solution! get this donut PAN from world market. This will be much easier to clean because you can actually submerge it in water! Last, we went to Lowes to get my succulent plant. They are only $3 a plant there and are well worth it.

I think that this little succulent is too cute! Hope you do too!

Blog post planner/Blog to-do list

If your starting a blog, or even if you already have a blog this is the thing for you! I made this so I can get more organized with my blog/posts.blog post planner.JPGI found one on Crafting{e} but it wasn’t quite my style so I decided to make one instead! here’s the one I made.blog post plannerI created it to be this pretty mint green but the printer didn’t print it right (we all know how that goes) so it turned out as more of a blueish color but that’s OK by me its still a cute color!🙂 When you print it out you are going to have to cut it out because its not made to be a full sized piece of paper.blog to do list.pngThere is a post planner, and a to-do list. The post planner is (obviously) to plan posts, the to-do list is to write down things you need to do in order to publish your posts. Like maybe ingredients for a recipe your doing or supplies for a craft your doing. If you would like to print them out click the link below.

Sharpie Easter eggs

I thought that the Rice crispy eggs would be my last Easter post of the year and then I realized that I hadn’t done an egg decorating post yet so I decided to do these sharpie eggs. We went to our cousins today and dyed eggs so I brought my sharpies and did these! They are so cute! I love the way they turned out. My favorite is the little chick!sharpie eggs- Crafts and Cupcakes.JPGHere’s a close up of the chick!sharpie eggs baby chick-Crafts and Cupcakes.JPGHere’s how to do it:

I found this cute craft at: http://mom.me/holidays/6513-easter-craft-craziness-part-1-sharpie-eggs/

  • Sharpies
  • Hard Boiled eggs

  1. Boil the eggs (If you add some baking soda to them when boiling they will peel better)
  2. Wait until they cool
  3. Draw whatever design you like on them with the sharpies

DIY tub divider

Are your tubs constantly messy and disorganized? Mine were so I finally did something about it. This tub divider is more practical than pretty but it works.🙂 All you need is a cardboard box!diy tub divider-Crafts and Cupcakes.JPGBefore after tub divider-Crafts and Cupcakes.JPGHere’s how to do it!

  • Cardboard
  • Sharp scissors

  1. Cut off a piece of cardboard (I just used the flap of a cardboard box)
  2. Hold it up to your tub and see where to cut it
  3. Cut the vertical piece
  4. Hold up another piece of cardboard to measure the across
  5. Cut the horizontal piece
  6. Make a mark where you want the horizontal piece to intersect the vertical piece
  7. Cut to nearly the bottom on the vertical piece
  8. Do the same on the horizontal piece so they fit into each other
  9. Place in box and add your stuff
